Steel
The metal structure is the embodiment of abusive, toxic masculinity. I used sheet metal to show who these people are; cold, hurts to touch when too close, hollow, conforms to white masculinity. I photographed myself with the structure to show how I have dealt with this person, showing my back that has undergone the trauma of dermatillomania (showing my vulnerability). I can't exactly forgive the person, cannot get justice through the justice system, and cannot physically deal a blow on them for "justice", because I will hurt myself in the process. In the end photo, I am in the process of leaving the structure, because that is all I can do.
